Early this morning in Beverly Hills, Tom Sherak, the president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the actress Mo’Nique announced the nominations for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. Among the top contenders is Lisa Cholodenko’s The Kids Are All Right with Four Nominations: Best Pictures; Actress in a Leading Role (Annette Bening); Actor in a Supporting Role (Mark Ruffalo); and Writing—Original Screenplay (Lisa Cholodenko and Stuart Blumberg). The awards ceremony will be February 27, 2011.
