Holidays Films to Make Your Christmas Scary

If you're feeling all Scrooge this holiday season, then Nick Dawson's selection of movies that take a darker look at Christmas is perfect for you.
Slide 9: Jack Frost (1996)
To clarify, this is not the 1998 Michael Keaton movie about a dad who dies in a car crash and comes back as––you guessed it!––a snowman, this is the 1996 movie of the same name about a much colder character. This particular Jack Frost is an unhinged psychopathic killer who, on the way to the electric chair, gets in a freak chemical accident and is turned into––you guessed it!––a unhinged, psychopathic snowman. This blackly comic chiller is possibly most famous for featuring the screen debut of American Pie's Shannon Elizabeth. In her sole scene in the movie, Elizabeth is seen bathing nude when the titular abominable snowman enters the tub, and proceeds to essentially kill her by what we must politely call "freezing fornication," ending the fatal clinch with the zinger, "It looks like Christmas came a little early this year." A sequel, Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman, followed in 2000.
