Focus Features 10th Year Anniversary Party
This week Focus Features celebrated their 10-year anniversary. Here is a short slideshow of snaps from the night. Film Society of Lincoln Center's Eugene Hernandez at their blog posted a sweet and smart note about the special event held Thursday, May 3 for Focus Features' 10 Year Anniversary. Hernandez chronicles the history of Focus and its predecessors and ends with a wry observation via the Museum of Modern Art's Laurence Kardish - who programmed the special Focus series at MOMA -- that highlights how everything comes around:
Opening the series at MoMA, curator Larry Kardish noted that the company went to Cannes and made their first deal just a few weeks after announcing the Universal deal. This year they are heading to the French festival with an opening night slot for an upcoming film, Wes Anderson's MOONRISE KINGDOM.
