I see a comment on Tang Wei EYES - yes they were mizmerising to say the least. Considering She was selected from 15,000 girls to play the part - then skilled in acting suggests Ang Lee made his biggest gamble - and it paid off big time !
i wanna see this...
Ang Lee is the greatest film maker since Stanley Kubrick. Considering this a great foreign language film is a travesty. Lust / Caution is a great film. Period. Tang Wei uses her eyes in ways that evoke flashbacks of a young Betty Davis. Truly great acting, beautiful sets, and expansive direction from a film maker that is vigorously attempting to encapsulate the universe within a 70mm frame.
Hoping Tang Wei get through the dark time in CHN, i love her so much that i feel so sad about the blacklist thing. It's the most stupid thing i have ever heard in this century.
I just recently saw this movie and loved it so much that I bought the book. Tony Leung is a truly great actor, and I look forward to seeing Tang Wei in movies to come. I was absolutely thrilled to see Joan Chen in this movie! She did a wonderful job, as always.
Gran homenaje a Nagisa Oshima!

"The Lovers" Starring Jane March, and Tony Leung Ka-Fai, was very well received in the USA. It contained extremely graphic erotic scenes with a great deal of nudity. They were not playing chess.
It's a cultural divide that prevents much in the way of Asian Male-Caucasian Female love stories, but that is changing. (Thank God!) It is definitely not a forbidden subject.
MANY male Asian actors are beautiful. And HOT!
At least two Austin FX4 taxis from l970s London in 1938 Shanghai? -- Good grief!
What I would love to see is Tony Leung or another famous actor with a beautiful foreign actress. Maybe French or Egyptian.
I would buy the Bluray and also watch it in theaters, if America would allow it. Though traditionally I know a Asian male in a romantic role is forbidden in American theaters. One can dream.
No Blu-Ray version? :(
Saw the movie twice, can't wait to buy the dvd. It should have been up for best foreign film.
I can't wait to see the movie.
zzzzzzzzz
I'm looking forward to seeing this movie.
