Hey, Jo Jo! When they found out the 150-inch Panasonic plasma TV was bigger than any of my walls, they bought me a new house!
But I would have said the following regardless:
Although it's too early to review the entire movie, there was enough positive in the trailer that I think the movie itself is going to be awesome. Having said that, I feel that somebody in marketing had too much control over what went into the trailer. I think — and certainly hope — that this is going to be one of those rare movies that is dramatically better than its trailer.
As for the age check, I must admit that was a bit spooky, but frankly I think it's a great illustration of how much sensitive information is actually "public" knowledge and not nearly as private as some might think.

The problem with America is that there's a growing segment of the population that are smug, ball-less bitches that think they're smarter than they are. Don't mock the movie until you've seen it.

I have seen hundreds of movies and hundreds of trailers and if you think about it, this movie is 94 minutes long, the trailer is 3 minutes long, that means unseen footage of approximately 91 minutes. Are you going to judge a whole movie based on a 3 minute trailer? If you are, than go ahead, but when this movie hits the theaters and does as well as it's going to, don't jump sides and tell your friends "I told you so!!"

thats so stupid that you have to be 18 to view it, and even if you are you can't! thats so fucked up, But for anyone who wants to see it...go to youtube. the idiots who made this site obviously didn't think about that way of getting the trailer
how the fuck is the phishing?
I can't see the trailer either, and I'm plenty old enough. It's a stupid mistake, now I have bad feelings about the film because of stupid technology. What a nanny state we live in, it has people scared of a little cussing or nudity. Too bad, because the version I saw in the theater today looked funny. But forget this, it's not worth the effort. I put in my real name and zip code and it keeps telling me it's wrong!
At last they put a non-restricted version of the trailer up!!! - And the movie looks good!! Now to set my plan to sneak into the theater to see the R rated movie
I can't understand what the problem is? What is the big deal about putting in your name and DOB?
i like the one where the mouse kills the cat.
As I thought.... totally not worth the effort.
It's on Youtube? Well, then I suppose it's okay to have a crappy user experience on the official website they paid to advertise to get us here then.
Or not. More likely you get a bunch of frustrated users who now will think; "yeah, the trailer was kinda funny, but not worth the effort it takes to find it."
twit.
It won't let me view the trailer. Lame, since I'm 35 and reasonably mature.
It's on YouTube, so quit yer bitchin'.
Art (nipper)
IDIOTS !!!!!!!
Why don't you do a movie about Mohammad and his 100 virgins getting it on. Oh wait I forgot the Muslims might kill you, your so lame and chicken. Jesus will forgive you but Mohammad will cut your Infidel Head off.
I thought I would just mention that an IQ close to 100 means that you are AVERAGE, seeing as the formula for IQ is {"Mental Age" / "Chronological Age" * 100}
All that being said, the trailer made me laugh. Oh dear...
Good comment Jaaaaack. You must be the smartest and bravest of all your high school buddies to have the balls to say Americans are stupid while also doing it in a forum where you remain anonymous so the repercussions are non-existent. The problem with America isn't the stupid; they pay taxes and buy things they don't need, thereby spurring the economy. The problem with America is that there's a growing segment of the population that are smug, ball-less bitches that think they're smarter than they are. Don't mock the movie until you've seen it.
Considering the majority of my fellow Americans have an IQ close to or below 100, I'll say now that this movie is going to be huge success.
I can't believe how many "Pity pot people" and complainers are on this web site. They must live in zero gravity. With all of the stupid political campaigns, commercials and news on the up coming presidential we need a little humor in our journey called "LIFE". If this movie can make even just one person laugh it is worth it. So live and reach for your dreams and they will come true. OH! stop complaining.
I've seen this movie and let me tell you that it is very original, and very funny.
I can't believe anyone who would put their real name and birthdate on a non-secure website. I didnt even try to veiw the trailer. I DONT give out personal info online!
This is all a marketing ploy. You can see this trailer easily on Youtube and soon on many other sites and even on television. It's just a way to create buzz by having people say "What don't they want me to see?"
It's no big deal. It's all a joke and that's why some people who are over 21 can get in and some can't and while some under 21 can get in and some can't.
It's all to generate buzz and it's a joke. There aren't web design mistakes. This is a JOKE!!!!!! And from the comments, it's a pretty damn good one.
This is Jesus and I approved this age verification process. And this film. So shut the fuck up. Verily.
This could be the best movie ever, and I would never tell anyone to watch this movie just because of the web site.
Incredible Marketing mistakes!!! BS WEB SITE!!!
oh and to everyone claiming this violates your privacy. your a idiot. if that information was strongly protected you would be waveing your right to any protection. so just dont watch the trailor or go to youtube. get outa your holes people!
quit crying about age verification, its your drivers license. they are not private anyone can pull that info up.
You guys fucked up with that age verification thing. I wouldn't do that again, if I were you.
We put in our names and zip code and you check it against our drivers license information to prove I'm over 21? That can't be legal!!!! Who allowed you to access our drivers license information? Really, where can I get that kind of access? What's to say I can't then go get anyone's driver's license info on my own and spy on people too??
Jesus H Christ people! stop complaining about the age thing, go to youtube! it's easy, just type "Hamlet 2" into the little seach box, and oh my god there it is!
It sucks that most of the comments don't even have anything to do with the movie, but how people can't see the trailer. take your complaints elsewhere. This movie looks great, I can't wait to see it.
I would love to see the trailer, but not when you are trying to tie me to my drivers license. That is out of line.
Jesus Fucking Christ... Fuck you and your fucking age verification system. I invite everyone who doesn't like the idea of having to share their personal information to watch a movie trailer (what do you do with the data, where is your privacy policy, why should I trust you), to boycott this film.
Thank you, and kindly go fuck yourself.
might wanna fix your stupid widget, its broke, so i couldnt see your 'special top secret lame ass trailer'
i need u 2 send some pics 2 my mail box pls,i appreciate ur movies alot .keep it up u guys are the best love u all.ify 4rm Nigeria
Even funnier: this was already done. Christopher Nolan wrote "Hamlet 2: Better Than the Original." It was a simple parody of the first one.
try entering your drivers license info from four years prior--that's what I did; so yes, the site sucks--both the poor streaming and the database they're drawing the info from
yo...guys....fuck this site...this site is stupid...its on youtube..for crying out loud...its freakin hilarious...i want to go see it...
I am Trott Felipe. I'm an actor. I want to audition for this film. Look me up on Google.
pues no puedo decir nada on
I kept using a fake name, DOB, and real zip to pass verification, it wasnt until I used my brothers name, dob, and zip that it allowed entry, so WTF they have access to our personal info?
Unreal that most of these posts are written by people who cannot write an entire sentence without a spelling error. You all go and watch your stupid movie now and see if you can maybe learn something.
it looks aiiiiiiight but it is no southpark or team america
Ummm try youtube people, I just watched the trailer over theere and its hilarious
Looks great!
I can't wait to see Skylar Astin and Phoebe Strole from Spring Awakening!
Skylar was already amazing in the trailer! This is going to be hilarious.
Good fucking lord. There is nothing wrong with the damn verification. Put in your real -PUT IN YOUR REAL- information in, watch the trailer, and shut the fuck up.
Argh, wtf, it doesnt even work. It says it cant validate my DOB or some shit like that
Paul, you are a douche; shut up.
This movie and the people who like it go along way to explain why this country is in serious decline.
This movie looks absolutely hilarious. I can't wait for it to come to theaters. Amy Poehler for the win. Not to mention Skylar Astin, Elizabeth Shue, Steve Coogan, and David Arquette.
[And, for all of you bitching about the trailer, it's on YouTube. It's really not that hard to find, either. Get over it.]
That looks great. I love the whole homage to Grease and West Side Story.
BTW to the poster David who thinks Trey and Matt are Republicans and don't blast Bush...
They created an entire sitcom called "That's My
Bush" for comedy central that basically made W. into a complete idiot. It only lasted for one season but is hi-larious.
Furthermore this was in no way written by Trey and Matt but by Pam Brady who helped to write both the South Park Movie and Team America. You'd be amazed what you can learn through Google and IMDB!
Good Luck and I hope your movie rocks!
this movie looks good and also vary funny...cant wait to see this movie...
quit whinihg about the age verification, you dont give enough information for anything major to happen to you- except for like some random dude using the phonebook to track down your ass and hurt you- but oh wait this is a movie website, they already jave more money and shit than you so i guess that part doesnt matter
people who said shit about jesus being in the film- wow- your intelligence lievels are shockingly near mental retardation- i wonder if it has anything to do with that book you always tote around and try to disprove evolution with
anyway should be an ok movie- slapstick isnt really my style but i understand their need to reach out to a larger audience
also mike, you dont need to be 21 to view restricted movies which you would probably know if you werent 12 and a half
what is this .What i comments for this paper??
More BS, website is not letting anyone in.
Hint - if one of your parents has the same name as you - use their info
This looks hilarious.
Hey bizznus, learn to spell "censor."
If this trailer was such a waste of time to watch, why waste more time coplaining about it? I think this movie looks great.
stupid stupid stupid
Have no interest what so ever in seeing this peice of trash, also get a new webmaster, the site sucks!
Youtube dumb asses!
F*** this BS makes all that is good in me hurt. That was worse than horrible, pure crap! I want those 2 minutes of my life back, and the 5 minutes it took for the sensor to figure out how old I am, wow.
i didn't have any problem viewing the trailer, and i don't even have my physical drivers license anymore. i just put in my information and watched the trailer. those of you who are having difficulties are having problems on your own end, clearly, and lashing out at the makers of the site for covering their own rears should reevaluate your thinking.
and i really dig the whole transgressive attitude of the film, which is about DRAMA. movies about drama always bomb, but see what happens when they make it as edgy and sinful as possible... it's a great contrast, and i mean come on; "Well, thank you for your candor."
Skylar Astin is love.
Hamlet is love.
Comedies are love.
Pheope Strole is love.
Skylar+Hamlet+Comedy+Pheobe=HELLA LOVE!
SO EXITED!
I so wanted this movie to be funny.
But the trailer sucks. They can't even find two minutes of funny material for the trailer. The only funny bit was with Elizibeth Shue. The rest of the trailer was (1) trash cans hitting kids in the head, (2) scripts hitting kids in the head, and (3) kids falling into walls. Oh, hahaha. What a riot! Not!
this is too funny how many of you guys are actually joe public, or is this a Pub stunt?
this is DEGRADING to Jesus Christ.
go read you BIBLE.
stupid movie...don't waste your time or money
This is absurd. How about asking for our social security number and mother's maiden name, too. All this to see a dumb movie trailer to promote their film. Go "f" yourself FilminFocus. You are chickens%#$t for asking all this information -- like with all the stuff that's on the internet you need to put this crap in so no one will be offended? Give me a break. You suck.
the age validation thing is nonsense. any ten-year-old with enough savvy to get to this site can access his parents' drivers license information. funny clip, but never again.
I don't believe the site uses any sort of real sophisticated verification at all. You all are just idiots!! I used a changed version of my name and a different zip code from when I got my license because I just recently moved. It blocked me the first time and then I just re-entered the same info and got right in.
AMAZING
I want to see the trailer, but I am not from US, so what shall I do?
Hate americans for their stupid restriction policy
i freaken gonna love this movie!....looks amazing
This movie looks awful! Horrible story line, lame acting, cliche "comedic" antics. I'm really looking forward to seeing the numbers for this movie bomb.
I hate most everything that "the South Park creators" have done because they are such Republicans who never make fun of Bush who is ripe for satire and laughing at while they make fun of liberals who have actually done good for humanity. They always support Big Business and don't believe in Global warming. They do much more harm than good with their "humor". As for this movie it looks like it might be cute but I wonder how many jabs at progressives will it have and how much will they praise conservatives?
yeah, i saw the trailer and the movie looks stupid. I'm tired of seeing "From the guy who made THIS shitty movie" or "from the guy who thought about making this movie". It's nowhere near as good as south park the movie.
Mounting a high school musical is a great comedy conciet when used to induce temporary narcolepsy.
Age validation was not a prob for me so all you kids need to
stop trying to view what your fragile minds cannot bear.
The trailer is amazing.
American "Society " will have a harder time with this than Monty Python's Life of Brian"
Poking all the right buttons to make the sheeple think...
Great Job on the site and the trailer
Long Live Freedom
America is # 1
Ron Paul is the Best Choice : )
Dumb asses. It verifies a name and birthdate against a national database of driver's licenses. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE YOUR OWN NAME AND BIRTHDATE. Chances are you know your momma's name and birthdate, right? (Chances are less that you know your daddy's info, I know, because your momma was a whore)
Man I feel so sorry for you pitiful losers who couldn't watch that trailer! It was a life changing experience- I watched it 15 or 20 times,.I laughed, I cried, it was better than "Cats." At the end they give you a number to call and the studio is sending me $1000 and a flat screen TV. Plus, it says if you post a rude comment they ban you from ever seeing this movie and they come to your house and pee in your yard. Sucks to be you, losers!
Great movie- I'm going to go watch the trailer AGAIN!
Nor a US resident. When will the 22th century scam-artists known as lawyers permit us 2nd rate citizens to view your oh-so-protected material?
Hmm. I'm 25, have a valid liscense... and yet it still wont let me view the trailer. What's up with the "can't validate age?" Can''t your website understand certain dates? Very irritating.
Your site sucks! What is this error not able to verify age bullshit? All this drama to watch a trailer. Stand up for your freedom of speech rights PUSSIES!
Looks like a winner. Lets hope so. :)
AWESOME!
i watched it just fine, what's everybody bitching about?
This is bull shit.
It's called "net neutrality."
If you're too afraid to post an "adult trailer" without age verification because some sue-happy jackass might get offended, then what's the point of making an "adult trailer" (or an R rated movie) in the first place?
FUCK "family friendly"
It says "movie lovers welcome" at the top of the page. If we're so welcome how come most of us are blocked from seeing the trailer?
Oh well. Looks like I'll have to take my movie lovin' tush elsewhere.
see name
This is fucking retarded, I entered everything, and then saw the thing about the "must have a valid drivers license." I don't have one at all!
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. i've been waiting to see this trailer for about a year now.
WHY AM I BEING MOVIE TRAILER COCK BLOCKED BY THIS AGE VALIDATION BULL.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
validate my god damn birthday i'm 20.
Looks great. It's coming out the same week as another Shakespeare comedy, Never Say Macbeth. Check out that trailer at www.neversaymacbeth.com
I got to see the movie during a prescreening in New York City. Its hilarious. I see why it had such rave reviews at Sundance. After watching the trailor I think it gave away some funny parts but not all of them so that's good. If your up for a good laugh and love Napolean Dynamite or Juno this movie is for you.
ummmm invasion of privacy
Whose idea was it to plan "Rock Me Sexy Jesus" and why isn't it to the tune of Falco's "Rock Me Amadeus"?
So excited to see this. I'm in this movie!
I am so excited about this movie! I'm one of the drama students, Rock me Sexy Jesus was a blast to perform. It's exciting to see everything come together.
I believe the site pulls info from some sort of official source validation. I have to put my "legal first name" in as opposed to the name I go by and it uses the Zip code that I moved out of last fall. Have had to do that before in order to get it to work.
If you've recently moved, try your old zip.
Movies are undoubtedly getting worse and worse. a "Rated R" trailer so the guy can swear at his cat? Stupid. The writers for this idiocy should be publicly mocked, then shunned. I'm all for comedy but outright stupidity is the only thing on the menu.
I'm having the same problem with it saying it's not able to validate my age. Oh well I guess it wasn't that worth watching anyway.
Tried for the last 2 days....entered name, DOB, Zip, and always get the "Can not validate" message. Have tried from 3 different computers as well.
Im not a web designer but it does irritate me to have to have this happen time after time.
trailer looks funny
enter your name, dob and zip on your license - what is so hard about that?
What is Josh talking about? I watched the trailer just fine, which looks totally funny. enter your freaking name, dob and zipcode on your drivers license - how hard is that?
Well said Jay! Looking forward to seeing the film, it looks like a classic!
Idiots... as a web designer... whomever did this site are a bunch or retards... cannot validate age? Come on... sad.. and a really bad reflection on the actual movie.. based on this experience, I am no longer interested in seeing this movie, let alone the trailer.
This web site is Phisging! I tried to see the trailer, being over 21, and submited 5 times before giving up! BS!
