Six projectionists and theater managers give us their five favorite movies.
Jaws
I watched this as a kid all the time--I will never forget the shark attack in the background of the beach scene. And this one is rated PG?
Groundhog Day
I could watch Bill Murray re-live the same day over and over again--over and over again.
The Dark Knight
Christopher Nolan's brilliant modern film noir is stolen by Heath Ledger's Joker.
A Clockwork Orange
As brilliant as it is disturbing; an absolute masterpiece by Stanley Kubrick.
The Empire Strikes Back
To quote Kevin Smith's Clerks, “Empire had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All Jedi had was a bunch of Muppets.”
A 33 year-old, married father of two, Jim Reeves is an avid movie fan, DVD collector and fountain of "useless" trivia knowledge. Jim earned an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and considered a career as an attorney, earning a law degree at the Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware. But that's when the theater industry got ahold of him, and he has worked as a theatre manager and projectionist for almost 10 years.
