The oil rich Dubai launched a film Festival several years ago, now it may have a local film to show in it. Ali Mustafa, a 27-year-old director from the United Arab Emirate, just finished the UAE’s first feature film City of Life. Mustafa picked up production funds after showing his student film at the 2007 Dubai Film festival. Mustafa told Gulf News, “We are attempting to do something that has never been done before… we are attempting to make a movie which meets global standards. The scale is truly international and it's made from start to finish in Dubai.”
