Austin’s film fest hands out awards
The South-by-Southwest film festival wrapped up this week by handing out a series of awards. Top prize for the Narrative Feature went to Judi Krant’s Made in China, a comedy about an inventor stuck in Shanghai. The Documentary Feature award went to Bill Ross’ 45365, the zip-code title work about a small town in Ohio. In the narrative jury LA Weekly critic Scott Foundas, producer Ted Hope and journalist Kim Voynar judge: the documentary jury was composer Variety columnist Anne Thompson, film programmer Basil Tsiokos and “Independent Lens” founder Lois Vossen.
